Be sure when doing audio to install FDK-AAC. Every other encoder is utter shit in comparison. It was removed from the latest handbrake (because those pussies succumbed to the man) so you need to man up and encode via terminal.
-VP9 is good for Youtube, but the encoder is slow as balls.
1fps on an i5-4690 with all 4 cores at 100% on normal quality. Fucking disgracefully slow.

I personally do all my HEVC encoding on a non-networked work laptop with a Broadwell 15W processor. Takes a while but I usually just set a batch once in a while and forget about it. Runs quiet enough that I can't even hear it at 100% load sitting on my desk.

Typing if you know exactly what settings you want to use. GUI if you aren't sure and want to see options/tool tips & recommendations. I usually use command line but sometimes use a GUI, both have their place.

handbrakeCLI is infinitely better than ffmpeg, because it incorporates ffmpeg and MANY OTHER THINGS to process video and output the best
deblocking, decombing, etc none of that shit exists on ffmpeg and their meme version of it is garbage

I looked through their source code.
Most of what I see is copy/pasted versions of FFmpeg filters, some even with the FFmpeg license header still intact.
The decombing filter is literally just yadif. What the fuck?
Also, TIL: I'm mentioned in the license headers of some FFmpeg files that I've literally never seen nor touched. What the fuck?
