>Teacher wants me to do all the labs off packet tracer.
>Barely have any of them done before grades are out on Monday.
Why is Cisco hell /g/?
>>
>>53449161
Why?
>>
>hurr durr I procrastinated
>y sooo hard slashgee?
>>
>>53449161

You college has classes that are fucking branded by corporations? Lmao.
>>
>>53449238
My community college doesn't have the equipment for hands-on training. I don't even want the certificate, I just need the grade.
>>
>>53449253
YouTube it retard. They walk you through all of it
>>
>>53449161
Lazy student, blames teachers.
Dw senpai I'm the same :D
>>
>>53449253

Don't worry, Cisco won't be around much longer anyway, they're going to get murdered by NFV. No point in learning Cisco specific knowledge.
>>
>>53449275
Not op and I wouldn't say my teachers are stupid but they waste too much time on each topic instead of moving on to the next one.
>>
>>53449161
>didnt do your work
>complaining about cisco

way to be an idiot op, might as well drop out and save your money
>>
>>53449469
Or they focus on old outdated material.
>>
>>53449161
post stuff here and I'll do it. i'm studying for my CCNA. This shit is easy.
>>
>>53449514
Are you serious or just fucking around.
Cuz I'm on the last semester right now.
>>
>>53449536

If I don't do it you fail. If you don't do it you fail

>>
>>53449557
Alright I'm sending them now in a rar
>>
>>53449161
That shit is easy as fuck whats your problem?
>>
>>53449618
>>53449536
waiting for that rar
>>
>>53449676
Sorry my upload speed's trash.
I sent it just now.
>>
>>53449639
Not him but I'm pretty much in the same situation.

Asshole teachers won't explain shit, even the guides and the exams are in English and most people in my classroom have below beginner-tier English knowledge.

I spent 5 days fiddling around just to find out the 2-2 topology was different in packet tracer and they actuay involved different interfaces and cables.

Will Cisco still really hard for me to learn If I already do years of self learning in routerOS?

>>53449711
is this PT version good enough?
>>
>>53449746
Yeah that versions fine.
I'm using the same one actually,
>>
>>53449736
It's basicly just common sence.
You don't even have to think hard,
Connect wire X to port Y and it magically works whenever packet tracer isn't a little fucking bitch and decides to cuck off DHCP and other fuctions.
>>
>>53449759
>>53449746
You guys are still on 6.0?
Just upgrade to 6.2 and when the teachers open them it will just fuck up and you will have extra time to fix your works.
>>
>>53449251
>>53449325
I think the reason Cisco is the go to for teaching switching is that a lot of companies make switches with a cisco-like interface. I'm developing a network switch for one such company, and all our commands are shamelessly copied straight from Cisco.
>>
>>53449161
kek that was one of the esiest lessons for me, but at the same time it was interesting.
t. network admin
>>
>>53449761
theres a bit more too it than that. theres subnetting and router configuration.
>>
I'm doing op's shit right now. even the configs are given for every device.
>>
>>53449840
And thats literally the easiest thing ever.
Router config is just basicly setting up 5 commands over and over again.
>>
>>53449251
mfw my professor was VP of research for cisco.
>>
>>53449861
configs are pretty straight forward. just set up the ip interfaces and what not. figuring out the subnets is where i get stuck
>>
>>53449840
>subnetting
An exersize in memorization, though if you're doing it in v6 I'm not touching that with a ten foot pole.
>>
>>53449894
Use a subnet calculator online?

>>
>>53449966
You can't use a calculator when you're taking the test!
>>
>>53450045
Then just calculate manually?
The more you do it the more likelly you are to remember .
>>
>>53450045
Also no one's stopping you from sneaking your phone in.
>>
>>53450071
>so bad at arithmetic that he needs to cheat
Why are these people allowed to reproduce?
>>
>>53449860
Thanks again man
>>
>>53450100
Don't ask me I had that shit memorized because my teachers just used generic multiple choice questions.
>>
okay can anyone explain the process of subnetting ipv4 for me?

pretty sure its

convert subnet mask to binary
find magic number
find ranges of subnets
find useable hosts?
>>
>>53449860

I'm just kidding, OP. Do your own shit. I'm not doing your work for you. We have enough clueless niggers in this industry already. Have fun flipping burgers, moron.
>>
>>53450102
np. doing the chap/ppp lab now
>>
>>53450142
Alright that's cool.
I'm still doing the exams.
