Found it, it's not well documented...

It's supposed to be in %APPDATA% but I had to create the mpv.conf inside the mpv folder.

I used:

# normal top-level option
fullscreen=yes

to see if it did anything.
>>
nice thread OP it's taking off like wildfire.
>>
>>53449291
It's lagging? It's sort of a known problem that fullscreen on El Capitan has performance issues because Apple can't do drivers, the devs can't do anything about it until Apple fixes their shit.

The workaround so far is to add:
quiet
fs-black-out-screens

to your mpv.conf. You can add it by copy pasting this in the terminal:

touch ~/.config/mpv/mpv.conf

echo "quiet\nfs-black-out-screens" >> ~/.config/mpv/mpv.conf

You shouldn't have any problems anymore after that.

Does anyone could create a kind of windows installer with presets built-in.

Could be great to have these options too:
- Install nircmd.exe and autowinspeed.lua based on current display monitor.
- Install youtube-dl and set appropriated option based on machine performance.
- Install sharpeners like adaptive-sharpen, finesharp or lumasharpen.
- Install kodi and set mpv as external player.
- Set mpv as default windows player fully automatically like mpc-be installer.
- Install icaros thumbnailler dlls.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux,
is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux.
Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component
of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell
utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day,
without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU
which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are
not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a
part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system
that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run.
The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself;
it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is
normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system
is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux"
distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
>>
Not sure if it's the latest nightlies or (more likely) intel graphics update I got the other day but now I can use:
vo=opengl-hq:backend=dxinterop
hwdec=dxva2
.

No frame drops at all on 60fps videos (even with stats script spammed), resource usage is pretty much on par with mpc-* and now resizing doesn't cause it to die or go black and get stuck.
>>
>>53451067
yes, Intel has fixed their drivers
dxinterop should be enabled by default now

I'm terribly sorry for interjecting another moment, but what I just told you is GNU/Linux is, in fact, just Linux, or as I've just now taken to calling it, Just.Linux. Linux apparently does happen to be a whole operating system unto itself and comprises a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Most computer users who run the entire Linux system every day already realize it. Through a peculiar turn of events, I was misled into calling the system "GNU/Linux", and until now, I was unaware that it is basically the Linux system, developed by the Linux project.

There really isn't a GNU/Linux, and I really wasn't using it; it is an extraneous misrepresentation of the system that's being used. Linux is the operating system: the entire system made useful by its included corelibs, shell utilities, and other vital system components. The kernel is already an integral part of the Linux operating system, never confined useless by itself; it functions coherently within the context of the complete Linux operating system. Linux is never used in combination with GNU accessories: the whole system is basically Linux without any GNU added, or Just.Linux. All the so-called "GNU/Linux" distributions are really distributions of Linux.

No bloated GUI menu. ;)
If you want or need it, try mpv based player like smplayer, baka-mplayer or gnome-mpv.

I am also very happy of dxinterop now.

I use these windows builds, they work pretty well.

However it would be great to add current user's rights to the mpv installation folder.
It's very annoying to launch notepad as admin just to edit mpv.conf file.

Can anyone explain why this happens?
Sometimes when I load other videos (webms on 4chan for example) while I also have mpv open, my computer locks up for a second and then this happens, it looks like it stops trying to synchronize with my display rate (Mistimed stat disappears from stats script) and it also seems like it completely stops utilizing my GPU for anything (it sits at 0% after this, it's usually at 30-50% before).

This only seems to happens with backend=dxinterop,

Is it fully correct or do I miss something?
- Install autospeedwin.lua in scripts folder.
- Install nircmdc.exe in the mpv folder.
- Add mpv folder path into the system path.
- Add this in my mpv.conf files.
script-opts=autospeed-nircmd=true:autospeed-rates="23,24,29,50,60"

For my LG 34UC87M-B I have the option to have the output color format set to RGB or YcBCr444, would there be any advantage/disadvantage between the 2 when using MPV? I also have it set to 10bpc output color depth.

RGB would be better

YCbCr444 means the display is doing YUV->RGB conversion. (Protip: Your display is shit at YUV->RGB conversion)

LG in particular has basically the worst firmware programming I have ever had the misfortune of using. Complete garbage, never buying from them again.

They where removed from mpv but accesible through lavfi, then some where removed from the lasch0r compiles, but there's nothing stopping you from using your own compile with those
>>

the driver update I got was 20.19.15.4331 which must have fixed it.
