The +5% is a lie actually. That's comparing single threaded performance, and stock sure. But the G3258 running at stock speeds is just purely idiotic. However, the i3 has hyper threading. That being said, that version of the i3 is the one with the beefier iGPU. The 4170 is the comparable one, and that's only $110 vs $70, and the multi-threaded performance was definitely worth it. Only reason to get the G3258 was for very specific usage cases like Emulators and WoW.

The g3258 is $50 at microcenter and you have the option to pay $5 for a 1 yr warranty in case u somehow fuck it up overclocking. I have a cheap $60 mobo that can overclock it. Fucking best bang for my buck I've ever spent.
