IQ and overall cognitive abilities can go down from psychosis and major depressive episodes as well. During my worst depressive episodes I have a 20 to 30 point hit on my IQ. For me its the difference of Mensa membership and just normal. For other's Its the difference between MENSA and drooling. Schizophrenics i feel test lower on IQ because most of the time they are all over the place so the ability to focus is fucked.
