What went right? Why do so many normies continue to use it despite its vulnerabilities to malware and general obsolesence? Most versions don't even support 64-bit architecture, or RAM greater than 4GB. For all intents and purposes, Windows 7 is the new Windows XP. I'm surpised by brother was able to order a Skylake HP desktop last month with W7 Home Premium installed via OEM.
For those of you still running XP, install POSReady 2009. It's XP but you'll get updates till 2019

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

POSReady and XP are not the same thing. Yes you can set up XP to receive POSReady 2009 updates but you're still leaving parts of your system vulnerable. But hey, if you want to risk it just so your OS can have a different name, go for it.
it's fun and doesn't have a depressing 'black like my soul' user-interface, so people actually want to use it

MicroXP was the best thing ever conceived.

Barely any normies use it nowadays despite what memes /g/ may tell you. It's just old shitty ass PC's in some stores and China that uses it.

I have less than 4 GB of RAM. Now what? Do I poo in india, rape grills, and post feminsim to trigger secret ninja gamergaters on the unholy trinity of /a/g/v/?

Yes

>hurr why are people using older hardware? STOP THAT!!!!
>fuckin normies man
>my brother bought a prebuilt
Fuck off already. Companies are still using DOS machines everywhere, and you complain about XP?
Win7 can't do this

If you want to play late 90's to mid 2000's vidya, it's probably the best option out there; MS is almost actively trying to break older games. Then again,
