I got it to work just fine with vim and gcc but i'm trying to work on windows because that's what's installed on my desktop and I literally cannot get it to work.

You're exchanging $20 per year for giving Google the ability to spy on everything you do on 4chan, right down to which tabs you view for how long, which other tabs you have open, which cookies you have stored (which probably links it to your overall browsing history) and every keystroke you make.
