Ah, well if you want to go that path for some reason... Don't get me wrong, XP is great. I just wouldn't install it these days, with it being EOL and all of these applications just completely dropping support for it. It's unfortunate...
But if you have no issues, keep at it. I'd switch to something better eventually, though. If you actually want to compile your OS from source, go borrow a friend's computer for a day. :P

XP is okay if you're running it on older hardware, such as 32bit CPUs or old laptops. Although if your machine isn't capable of comfortably running Win7 or Ubuntu, it's probably deprecated.
