I don't support companies that set back the business just for profits. PC gaming is being fucked left and right, with shitty releases and poorly made games for years now, under the guise of GameWorks, which supposedly would make them better. It only made them worst. The worst console generation (in terms of hardware compared to PC) is looking good because of the clusterfuck of shitty optimized games that come out on the PC. Every other game AAA has massive performance problems, even on enthusiast cards that cost over 300$. That's not acceptable, and Nvidia is largely at blame for that, and you're deluded or on Nvidia's payroll if you think otherwise.
Also, Raja might be Indian, but he has accomplished more than you or me, or 99% of the people on /g/ can ever hope to accomplish if we had 10 lives to go through. I don't give a shit about Indians, the vast majority of them are pure scum, but his accomplishments give him merit, not his nationality.

my 380 4gb SOC has 4GB not 3.5
plus it costed $420NZD
paying another 200 bucks for a 970 3.5+.5 didn't seem worth as its not really 4GB.

the 980 was never a flagship card, it barely even performs better than the original titan. the only aberration is that we got the flagship a few months after the launch of midrange cards rather than getting a flagship first like it would have been 5 years ago (or now in the land of AMD because all they shit out are rebrands) because all the mid and low range chips used to be cut down flagship chips, now we need multiple dies because of power efficiency and bad yields.

what makes you say that? any maxwell card can oc to ~1500mhz core without a voltage increase for a 20-30% performance gain. on top of that, the overhead issue means you need a $400 CPU to get an AMD card to match the performance of a 970/980 at stock clocks.
there's really nothing setting AMD apart this generation, if 20nm hadn't fallen through and AMD didn't rebrand all their cards for a third time the story might've been different.
