Let's have a software thread. What are your must have programs on your OS? Also what configurations and optimizations do you do after a fresh install?

why do you guys like that shit so much? i seriously don't get it
>>53350864
I'll tell you why I love it.
-very fast
-let's you do major configuration as to how it displays images. For example I set it to display all images/movies to resize (resample) at full screen size.
-easily crop
-opens and saves to SOOO many different formats
-screen captures
I mean that's just starting off. It does everything and it does it fast.

this
honeyview is better
>>53350946
In what way? seriously, This is possibly a chance for a good discussion.
You claimed it's "better". Not "equal to"
What features does Honeyview have that Irfanview doesn't? or what does Irfanview have that makes it somehow worse than Honeyview?
>>53350968
literally use gimp for any image editing
you don't need a shitty image editor in your image VIEWER which is what it's supposed to be
Treesize Free
Breaks down disk usage by folder, super useful for when your disks are getting full and you're trying to decide what to get rid of.

The load time of GIMP is like 3 or 4 times if not longer than Irfanview. Irfanview startup is instantaneous and I'm supposed to open Gimp because I want to do a simple crop 99% of the time?. Yeah, nope. Irfanview makes it easier. I'm not trying to magnetic lasso anything.
It's just so fast and all I need to do is scroll my mousewheel to go back and forth. Can someone prove Honeyview is as responsive?

What do you guys use to encrypt your HDDs?
DiskCrypt is pretty straighforwards for Win 7 desu
>>53351160
I use Diskcryptor. I don't expect it to stop FBI or anything. Just good for keeping simple folks out.

>Also what configurations and optimizations do you do after a fresh install?
I'm a Linux user. We don't do “fresh installs” because our operating systems aren't designed to bit rot into oblivion after 2 years.

>posting to inform the thread that he nothing to post about
>>53351082
Doesn't ifranview have a next-image caching or something?
>>53351259
>>53351277
Maybe, I have no idea. I know is I love it's responsiveness.

scroll wheel also moves up and down on large images
my only beef with this
also fuck 4chan's file limit. 5mb is perfectly reasonable
>>53351318
I know honeyview does, so I wouldn't be surprised if yours did too. I'm too lazy to make a webm response but they were the same speed for me.

>5mb is perfectly reasonable
>>53351479
Can you make it so the window resizes to fit the picture like Irfanview does?
>>53350725
Vim, Iceweasel, GCC
most of GNU
>>53350968
>>53350946
>>53350864
I prefer Nomacs to either of those
I don't do anything, OS X does them for me.
