-let's you do major configuration as to how it displays images. For example I set it to display all images/movies to resize (resample) at full screen size.
-easily crop
-opens and saves to SOOO many different formats

The load time of GIMP is like 3 or 4 times if not longer than Irfanview. Irfanview startup is instantaneous and I'm supposed to open Gimp because I want to do a simple crop 99% of the time?. Yeah, nope. Irfanview makes it easier. I'm not trying to magnetic lasso anything.

I know honeyview does, so I wouldn't be surprised if yours did too. I'm too lazy to make a webm response but they were the same speed for me.
