Describes me and a bunch of people I know quite aptly, except I would put Gentoo next to Arch.
Started out with Ubuntu 8.10, went through my Arch phase and after years and years of using Linux and becoming a sysadmin, I ended up with Debian on servers and Ubuntu on work machines.
Its true except for the part where willingness to talk about it gets higher again... the more I've learnt about Linux the less interested I am in talking about it with other lintards

started with debian stable 8 years ago, moved on to debian testing for a while, then I realized it's not a very good rolling release distro so I moved on to arch.
Just use whatever distro fits your needs.
People who make these images/threads belong to the mount stupid, though.

I don't even understand why. It's stable as a rock, is stupid easy to mould to ones needs, and everything just works with minimal effort.
In fact, I'd say that people who "outgrew" Arch are more vocal about it than the actual users. Arch threads are always started by someone who fucked something up and had to reinstall another distro to "fix" it.
