THEY BOTH RUN EACH TAB AS A DIFFERENT TASK A.K.A. "SANDBOXING" UNPOSSIBLE TO TRACK SOMETHING.

The only helpful thing you're doing is blocking Facebook's domains. Anything else is just placebo.

Facebook tracks you if you don't log in.
Facebook tracks you if you don't have an account.

I can make an account right now, give it completely false location and general information and it would tell me to friend request people I know in real life.

I suspected that actually.
Whenever I have a "facebook" tab open my CPU idles at ~40%.
I wondered what causes this, since I try to black all-but-essential facebook scripts.

Jokes on you because I'm using a blackberry.
And the facebook application on bbos10 is not developed by facebook but by RIM. (same goes for twitter and few other social media applications). Unlike on memedroid I have some control over what the application can access.

Besides, it's still fucking facebook and platform makes little difference when you're ACTUALLY using it.

I primarily use it as a messenger though, for those few poorfag friends who don't have unlimited text

Forbid your friends to ever talk about you even in private chat, make sure no one takes pictures of you in case they upload them to facebook, prevent anyone that has your phone number to install facebook-owned apps on their own phones.

I actually find it all quite comforting.

If I know that everybody is getting tracked then I am more at ease with danger being stamped out before it gets close enough to pose a problem to me or others.

At the same time, I know that there are so many intelligent, serious people in the world that should the information be sufficiently misused or there be sufficient evidence to prove that information has been used for malevolent purposes all hell will break loose.

If it comes out tomorrow that Apple its recording its users 24/7 for the purposes of collecting and selling pornographic material, all apple employees will probably need to stay in their houses or end up killed, and their shops and factories will need the military outside them if they want to continue existing. If all that is happening is information goes into a database for security purposes then I can only feel safer and happier.

What the heck? How can it do that?

If I have a browser specifically ONLY for Facebook can it track me on other not Facebook browsers?

It tracks you if you use the same browser and have cookies enabled, it's not like they just magically know. They're talking about how normal people use Facebook.
>>
>>53272543
>What the heck? How can it do that?
“Like” buttons. (Or whatever facebook calls them)

>If I have a browser specifically ONLY for Facebook can it track me on other not Facebook browsers?
They can still track you through your IP, so unless you use an extra VPN connection for one of the two, most probably they can.

this a serious question?

Once you get on any site that has facebook embeds (comment section, LIKE/SHARE button) they're there.

Even if you're on a different browser they will still know it's you because of your IP.

I have two accounts, once for shit posting(firefox) and my real account on chrome.
The amount of reports I get a month makes me wonder why I haven't been banned. Unless they know but want to keep track when I turn on my vpn for my fap time on firefox
>>
>>53272569
>>53272582

So if I used Facebook for like 1 week then stopped because it was boring

This entire time they've been tracking me? How do I stop it now??

>>Even if you're on a different browser they will still know it's you because of your IP.
what if I use the Tor browser?
>>
>>53272726
>This entire time they've been tracking me? How do I stop it now??
Block Facebook either completely or at least from non-Facebook web sites.

I recommend using an ad blocker like uBlock Origin together with a filter list like “Anti-social” (or whatever it's called) to remove all of the social integration (“share” buttons, “like” buttons etc.)

If you want more control and/or peace of mind, you can also get something like uMatrix or RequestPolicy and block third party requests altogether. (Except for the ones you choose to permit)

Finally, you could go and block it at the networking level by using a firewall to block access to facebook IPs, or a hosts file to block your browser from resolving facebook domains.
>>
>>53272734
Then they won't, but that's mostly because the traffic gets routed through Tor instead of coming from your home IP.
>>
>>53271219
you took her to pound down?
>>
>No facebook account
>uBlock with Anti-Social
>uMatrix

Feels good man.

Life is considerably less complex without having to worry about social media.

I never understood the purpose of it though. it's far more interesting to bump into people you've met a few times, have a good time and part ways for a few months. It's more relaxed and chilled. Then you get to really catch up on each others lives etc.

Rather than "following" this person through their lives, akin to permissive stalking.

If any of you have real friends, you'll see that you spend almost none of your relationship on facebook together.

So what the fuck?

I keep telling myself I'll delete the next week or the next. Then I remember I can't log back into my level 67 Agar.io account anymore.

Or is there another way to log in without a facebook account if you signed up with it?

Less features, more privacy.

I'll take the privacy and deal with the shitty message implementation.
>>
>>53273204
I like how you don't even need the app installed. I have a few friends I can only contact over Facebook and if I leave the conversation open in the BB10OS browser it vibrates when I get a message, no app needed
>>
>>53273448
If you're using the browser, you're using facebook's web implementation, and therefore are losing the benefits of blackberry's increased privacy implementation (the app, which interacts with choice parts of the API). You're being tracked just as badly as other people using their web browser without adblock.
>>
>>53273554
I use it like once every few months, it's whatever. Not worth keeping an app installed
>>
I only use Instagram so I'm fine
>>
>>53273616
You're still running into similar problems. If you're clearing your login details, you're still be associated while logged out given your IP. You can try to cycle your mobile data or home internet connection to get a new ip, but you will likely end up still being correlate-able.

>>53273742

>>53273554
Another BB user here, is it really better to use the app, instead of the browser? I have an (probably irrational) fear of most apps, and facebook especially so, so I never tried it, since it works in the browser anyways.
>>
>>53274580
BB10's official Facebook app was made by Blackberry themselves, but they haven't updated it for quite some time, and seems like they have no plans to do so. Some newer features are missing, but it has a much saner set of permissions, and BB10 allows the user to revoke whatever permissions the user doesn't like. Alternatively, there's also Face10 by Nemory Studios.

If you want to use the browser version of Facebook, just open a private browsing session. If you want the cookie to persist but don't want the tracking, browse it on a separate browser like Zeus or Browsie.
