why?
>>
>>53260349
Not all copies of Windows come with Office so if I need to do any word processing Open Office is always my go to whether it is a temporary solution or a permanent one. You have any gripes with apache?
>>
>>53260394
LibreOffice is the superior open source office suite
>>
>>53260325
This is good, it'll make getting the basics sorted much easier.
>>53260405
I'll definitely give it a whirl.
>>
>>53260440
After Open Office was abandoned (a while since Apache picked it up) LibreOffice was forked off it and has been constantly developed since then

What's the check list you go through when you format and re-install your OS, /g/? Do you first download all the needed drivers for your peripherals, etc?
>>
>>53260674
I have all my drivers stored on my external hard drive
>>
>>53260679
What drivers?
>>
>>53260674

Although I need to go through this list, I changed the WiFi card, so the drivers here are deprecated
>>
>>53260712
what kind of shit hardware do you have where not even one thing works out of the box?
>>
>>53260712

You use a laptop?
>>
>>53260674
First I start with the drivers so I can at least use WiFi and my graphics independently. Save the drivers if you expect to format your drives for a new OS install, every laptop I get in is different so I always need a master computer to do the downloading until I can at least use the laptop for downloading the rest of its drivers.
>>
>>53260724
desu most of it does
Stuff like WiFi BT (with the new card), the graphics as well (but no intel control panel thing)

The stuff that doesn't at all is audio

So I made a post on sevenforums about my pc getting a BSOD and I this is the answer I got back, idgaf about getting a genuine copy of Windows, I really don't think I'll upgrade my pc either. The reason is I don't game, I have no interest with most vidya. I just torrent a lot, shows, movies, music now and again.

I don't need to upgrade do I, /g/?

Yeah PC forums are always populated with snobby fucks like those. They're professional and highly skilled, respectable and won't stoop down to peasantry, but still snobby af. No, you don't need to upgrade. Windows 8.1 is the most recent OS I've found to be usable at the very, very least past Seven so it's a good place to hide for now.
>>
>>53260851
Why would I? I'm a piece of shit pirate.

>>53260872
Yeah? I tried using windows 8.1 on a laptop for a while and it was such a fuck around just to do basic shit, I hear it's even easier to use once you get used to it but I'm not sure if I can be truly bothered.
>>
>>53260896
No point really to bother yourself with bs as long as you have something you already like. If you're all about the aesthetics then consider updating your win7 themes and possibly adding a rainmeter.

Except to not have good software. Niggers like you are sorry as fuck. You either have a shit Pc or you're limiting yourself to a ten application cap just to be stupid and starve yourself of awesome applications that make life easier.

Not him, but seriously you know how it is. It's fun to make fun of the guy that differs from /g/ approved products and Panda fits into the shit never mentioned so it's not really approved. I think they're all equally shit/placebo. I used to promote Avast. Now I just use MSE because less bloat.
