A lot of linux games in general run like shit with optimus. Gaming on a laptop is already kind of bad when you're using Windows. Gaming on a laptop with Linux is just asking for issues.
The nvidia drivers for linux are buggy and don't support a bunch of stuff; v sync is broken and the screen tears like crazy because theres no synchronization between the nvidia card and the screen. its a fucking mess.

Kinda expensive. R7 360 is the sweet spot for video cards. Not intel graphics but not too expensive either. You could probably run BF4 at high 1080p settings and still get decent frame rates.
