What are some /g/ approved must-have apps for Android? Got myself a Moto G and I'm all new to Android and smartphones. I'm thinking of rooting it so I can get Adaway and Freedom.

The apps that I release are the only ones you need.

Good choice of phone, Motorola don't come with any bloat.

I like to install:
Reuters for news
Pornhub (need to download from their site)
Opera Mini for saving data (uses 95% less bandwidth)
Games: Classic Words (Scrabble), Shibuya, Desert Golf

RAM Cleaner
Icon packs
Homescreen themes

They're the same shit and lets you do the same things.

Ignore free Nova, shit's so crap it doesn't even do gestures.

What the fuck are you even trying to say?
My phone has 3 GB RAM and I usually only have like two or three apps open. Memory usage has never been an issue for me.

I just use S Health. Works pretty great
>>
>>53162103

That's not even real exercising. Why do you need to track it?
>>
>>53162292
I mean like on a map. Guess it can't be done in Google maps?
>>
>>53162435
Same app m8, just click the walking thing at the bottom. I would show you what it looks like but I don't want to give you my address cause it shows a map.

Lol no it's part of Samsung's shitty bloat, I disabled everything else though so it's not as bad.
>>
Not something I use all the time, but something I absolutely need is Wakeup Touch Nexus for when I'm using my car phone mount because it blocks my power button. WTN allows the proximity sensor to be used as a power button, so anytime I need to use it I just wave my hand in front of the screen to turn it on. It uses up a lot of battery so I only turn on the service when I'm charging in the car.
>>
>>53163425
Why not just use ambient display?

How is it autistic to not want a giant corporation knowing what notes I'm taking? Don't get me wrong, I do use Google services but for anything with a good alternative I'll go with that instead of the Google app.

Ah yes, thanks came to the same conclusion after some research. Really not used to android. Which terminal and file manager would be recommended for one to use?
>>
>>53170151
Don't know shit about terminals so can't tell you.

Solid Explorer is the best file manager feature-wise, but it costs a couple of bucks.
Amaze File Manager is free and open-source, but doesn't have as many features.

If I'm not mistaken, the Moto G comes with Google Fit, which is useful for step counting if you're into that sort of thing.

Sleep by android is also nice if you have trouble waking up in the morning.
>>
>>53160421
If Android's a toy, then Apple and Microsoft's are fucking Fisher-Price.

Maybe BlackBerry belongs on /g/?

Fuck, man. Now I can't even transfer all my data.
I had a bunch of unused Loveca stones, too.
>>
>>53160577
>RAM CLEANERS
avoid apps like these at all cost. They are unnecessary and bad for your phone. Android is design to use spare ram so an unused ram is a wasted ram.

>>53160373
Also stay away from "battery managers apps" like Du and Cheatah mobile as they drain more power than they save and mess around with your system by killing task.
>>
>>53171921
The only one you should use is Purify by Kingroot
>>

I'm not terribly up to date but I still like ES File Manager, it's free too.
