Best webm converter?

Which one do you use?

Webm for retards was taken down so I need a new converter
>>
ffmpeg
>>
ffmpeg or the webms for dummies script form git hub if you can't work out how to use ffmpeg
>>
Wait what happened to webm for retards? Is that why I haven't gotten an update?
>>
>>53128542
it was removed from github because the word "retard" may offend some people so it is now put on another site

What the fuck is wrong with everyone these days? If I'm the one that's wrong, then I don't want to be right.
>>
ffmpeg, you have to baby VP8 around to fucking work else it will give you shitty output. It's not like h264 where you set a CRF, preset, and call it a day.
>>
>>53128770
What the fuckk, is this legit?

FFmpeg, the CLI is actually pretty easy to use once you understand the basics.
>>
>>53128848
yes make sure you install the dependencies
>>
>>53128867
Eh, I'd rather throw a file in, set the 3MB limit , and just let it do it's thing.
>>
>>53128889
This is how you get bloated webms, like >>53128822 said you have to baby VP8 around.

I have OCD, I always make sure my webm is as close to 3,145,728 bytes as possible and most of the time it's on the dot. The problem is, the webms are 2 pass so it's impossible to calculate what video bitrate input. I spend way too much time upping the bitrate a few at a time and re-encoding over and over again. Does anyone have a better solution? -fs doesn't accomplish what you think it does.
>>
>>53129991
I noticed >>53129223 's webm is exactly 3,145,728 bytes too. What's your set up?
>>
Is there a program for .webms like irfan view is for gifs?

It's annoying having to open them one by one
>>
I tried to transcoded on my Android phone but my phone became as hot as lava. Is there anyway to convert without making my phone hot?
>>
>>53130231
*transcode
>>
>>53130017

there's not much to it.. just divide the video length with the total bytes allowed to get bitrate per second..
>>
>>53130231
Easy.

You don't do it on your phone.

>>
>>53128815
>>53128848
github is a confirmed sjw shithole.
>>
>>53130259
That's the problem. Because it's 2 pass, it's using the target bitrate way too effectively and generously and the file size always come out below 3MB.
>>
>>53129991
dat nostalgia.webm tho

what's wrong with this? easy as shit to use, and still good quality. also easy crop, resize, subs, etc.

There's nothing wrong it, it's just that there are still people who don't know about this program. I just started using an avisynth as the input to do simple editing without relying on Premiere.
>>
>>53131656
>only converts gifs
>OSX only
>limited use unless you pay for more server time
What advantage does this have over literally any other method?
>>
>>53128770
>the word "retard" may offend some people
by god who cares? literally NO ONE cares
>>

>comfy ui
pretty much only that

you get 25 conversions per 24 hour period though on CloudConvert. if you have more than that, sorry man. i'm working on one that uses ffmpeg
>>
>>53130844
Would it be wrong if I converted this into a windows 10 app?

Eh, FFMPEG doesn't allow cropping and I don't want to use two programs to make shitposting webms.

If you set your bitrate manually webm for tards is just fine.

no but i've heard the saying "if you're gonna use a hammer, use a big hammer".

Even if I had memorised the commands, why would I want to use such an inconvenient tool when there are many user interfaces for ffmpeg available that work perfectly well?
While it's true that a GUI like WebM for Retards/Bakas has limited customisation, most of the more advanced options would be entirely lost on the vast majority of people if they had to rely on the command line. Myffmpeg is probably the most comprehensive GUI available.

Try setting a lower CPU priority or limiting the transcode only to 1 thread.

Generally phone CPUs aren't designed for continuous 100% load as they lack active cooling and their use case is designed to be in short bursts when your apps load, while video decoding is offloaded to the GPU.
>>
whats wrong with shotcut again?
>>
>>53134081
It does allow cropping (and a bunch of other video filters), however I agree that it's kind of useless without any visual guide.
>>
>>53133685
Can you repost the link?

I had the script working on my old box but lost the files.

WEBM related.
How do I convert a pic(s) to web, without having a CPU spike?
>>
>>53130844
Why there isn't linux version?
>>
>>53136074
Because Linux users know how to work with the command line.

It happens even when you open the webm in a new tab. So its probably a firefox issue. Similar to the "500+ fps on menu screen" problem that some games have when they don't limit the fps.
>>
>>53136523
Doubt it, I think it has something to do with the time it needs to loop it.
>>53136355
4chan doesn't allow webp, so converting images to webm with libvpx codec.
Original image size is 400 KB, webm is 40 KB that's reduction 90% in size.
The issue is with the playback for small resolutions it's no issue but with larger resolutions and repeated loops, It causes a spike in CPU load and temps.
Also an issue hen trying to include more than one image in single webm, is how to view it.
