How can I impove my technician keychain?

Gripstick for removing broken headphone adapters
Sim eject tool for swapping
USB8GB: Windows 7 bootable
USB8GB: Windows 8.1 bootable
USB8GB: Windows 10 bootable
USB8GB: Systemrescue
USB8GB: DBAN
USB8GB: ntpasswd
USB32GB: Linux multiboot + Software Utilities/Malware Removal

Getting two more 8GBs for chromeOS repair drives, and one for macs.

Anything else worth adding to it?

All I have is a couple flash drives with YUMI and a various recovery tools

Well, you'll need to double down on these. Make sure you have GPT formatted fat32 ones for UEFI machines and MBR formatted NTFS for older machines.
>>
Replace all of your 8GB drives with a 128GB one and just use YUMI to create a multiboot. Why the fuck are they separate?
Also get a micro USB adapter and lightning adapter, helps with clients who have a lack of cables (you can stick those on each other and onto a USB drive to keep them together)
>>
>>53058693
You know you can just use YUMI w/ fat32 and it works on any system, right?
>>
>>53058737
YUMI sucks dick when it comes to booting windows.

8gb is smallest

Not everything supports legacy.

Surface Pro 2 and HP Stream 8 are two devices that I know of off hand that only support UEFI (and only 64bit and 32bit respectively)

I assume that the linux one can double as this

Also, I have a hirens drive and a mri drive. I hardly ever use them and I doubt they work well with newer stuff but they were handy for what they are.

They are also good uses for my <2gb drives.

>>53058757
Correct me if I'm wrong, but unless it's booting uefi, windows won't boot off of a fat32 drive. I was under the impression that mbr boots required ntfs.

You could add a flashlight. I've got pic related and it's pretty nice.

small multi-tool/pliers w/Philips head and Flat head bits (for opening non-tool-less cases, uninstalling non-tool-less drives, etc)
Paperclip (testing PSUs, hitting odd reset switches, etc)
Bootable BartPE
blank/empty USB w/Micro-USB for footnet transfers or transfers from phone to PC (ideal for working with PCs that are offline/need drivers to get online. Download on phone, move to USB Drive, slap onto PC)
Tiny header/jumper for clearing CMOS/checking if a power button has broken
>>

remixOS or Android x86 just for shits and giggles.

Been thinking about starting my own admin keyring, but so far i can only thing of having GParted, Systemrescue (or Hiren's or something), a full distro install on one drive, and a bootable W7 install disk.

My main problem is trying to source enough flash drives with keyrings on them for cheap. any good sites to buy in bulk?

USB with tools (Reflect, different boot media creators etc)
USB with different ISOs for Windows and Linux

I have literally been using live usb linux as main os for the last two years, it works great. I keep a hd on the computer that has a working windows install for whatever might need windows, otherwise shitposting and internet browsing is all done on live usb. I always was interested in getting several isos in one usb. I learned about YUMI last year, I have never heard of any other.

I don't understand why IMG/ISO files can't be copied to RAM, mounted and then booted up, people who know about this stuff have been discussing it for over 10 years, why can't this be done yet?

>>53060386
Yeah I have UHS1 64gb card available if it works. I'm at work right now and my main phone is lumia 640 so I'll have to wait until I get home to test it. I have an LG Volt with CM on it that I'm hoping works.

>>53060470
There's a way to do it with grub and I think some motherboard (asrock? idk what chip) had it baked into the hardware. I bet it has a lot to do with how a lot of cdimages are coded and how they have static links that look for a physical disk drive instead of dynamic links relative to other files.

I used it to boot an xubuntu disk one evening after a hard drive crash. It's brilliant and useful as fuck.

Just get 64GB stick and use Yumi multiboot you absolute raging faggot.

>>
>>53060470
the problem is that typically an operating system kernel, once loaded, will assume the current state of the hardware doesn't matter
for example, a bootup could be something like;
- bios inits basic hardware
- loads bootloader from disk
- bootloader copies kernel into ram, then executes it
- kernel now has complete control over the contents of ram and will often reinitialize any hardware it wants to use (to get things into a fresh/known state)

see the problem? for an iso to run out of ram, it would need to be implemented by the bios, that is, it would need to section off part of the system memory so the os can't see it, and emulate a disc drive of some kind on its own, seperate to the os
>>
>>53062017
-- also note, this doesn't stop you from running a system entirely from ram /if the os supports it/, that is, you can
- boot the kernel
- have it load an iso or rootfs image into ram
- mount/use that from there
many livecds do this or have an option for it (allows you to remove the disc/usb drive once it's loaded)

Currently walking around with YUMI.

it's pretty chill. Can boot win 10 with UEFI, have to change to legacy when I need other tools.

can't see any reason to carry around like 10 usb's on my chain when I can do all I need with one.
Got win7, win8.1, El Capitan usb's available at my workplace in some drawer when I need it.

Why not buy only one big USB key and multipart them .... That's what I've done. Got windows 2003 server / 7 / 8 + DamnSmallLinux + backtrack + GnuPartedLive + Debian + one random recovery partition tool I don't remember the name of
All of this in one single key ....
>>

Not a bad idea, but you're still using them old tools?
Backtrack, really? 2003 server? it's 13 years ago now.

Yeah backtrack is getting old, but I have very little use for it. Maybe one day I'll move on to Kali.
And also I still have a live custom version of 2003 server because this windows is actually pretty fucking light once you removed bloats and useless services. And my "arcade pc" which is burried behind sticks and homemade booth has been running on a windows arium / 2003 for 10 years by now.

Also forgot I added rEFInd on it recently.
