You can't use a passive connector on a DVI digital only.
Look at the connectors on the OP. You wouldn't be able to get a signal, or get it into the connector. He would need an active adapter which is slow and expensive.

I don't even use my CRTs anymore (for space reasons mostly I guess), but LCDs still haven't caught up in the ability to have high motion clarity AND accurate color at the same time.
Stobed IPS might eventually get there, but it seems like color accuracy starts getting TN-esque north of 60 Hz still.
