What cheap Chinese tech have you bought, and would you recommend it?

Reminder not to buy batteries or things you're gonna eat/drink with from Chinese sites.

I don't really trust a great deal of these Chinese sellers and sites with my credit card info. Is there a kind of prepaid card that I can get at the store that can be used internationally in lieu of my credit card?

Not him, but same problem moron. He doesn't want them ANYWHERE near his actual finances; he wants an option that's very cut and dry in terms of him giving them no more money than he decides.
>>52688358
I know a lot of people in the US talk about pre-pay credit cards that seem to me like they're sold in Walmart. I'm from the UK and haven't ever seen one myself, but if your from the US, like I say, seems like you CAN get them.
>>
>>52688400
That's worse you fucking autist. At least with a credit card you can contest the charges without losing anything, if they scam your debit you're SOL and without your money until the case is investigated and resolved.
>>
>>52688503
I think he was joking
but yeah, I think a prepaid card works.

>don't buy chinese batteries

Are people actually under the impression that cellphone manufacturers like Apple have all their shit built in China, but not the batteries?
>>
>>52689227
They're under contract by them so they can't fuck around with the batteries as all the blame would go to Applel in this case.

Meanwhile if you buy a battery from some shady seller, you have no idea how many corners they've cut.
>>
>>52688462
You can get prepaid credit cards pretty much from any shop in the UK that sells standard gift cards, but there's usually like a £5 activation fee that Visa or MasterCard incur.
>>
>>52689197
My bank allows unlimited VCCs. See if yours offers something similar.
>>
>>52688358
your cc details are handled by ali, not the individual seller.

So when you buy a 3 dollar thing, ali takes 3 dollars, and in 3 months when the fucking thing finally arrives, and you click "I received my shit", then they give the 3 dollars to the seller.

So it's really a matter of whether or not you trust Alibaba, the world's largest online wholesale trading site, worth over 250 billion US dollars, with your measly fucking credit card.

http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_252601.html

And it's pretty damn fine. Only issue I have with it is the god damned wi-fi. It's fucking shit. I get 30 mbps down on my desktop, and I fall to 5 mbps with the teclast, and I fall below 1 mbps if I decide, god forsake me, to use the keyboard cover, making the wi-fi pretty much non-functionnal on top of having poor performance.

That said, I almost wish now that I had waited for the Cube i9, because it looks like everything I wanted. Unless they pull out a i9 Stylus, because then I'd be disappointed to know that I bought a 12" tablet without stylus.

you dont have to worry aliexpress is safe, the website is a hub where vendors "set up shop" and peddle whatever chinafake shit they're selling, however with payments your cc payment goes to aliexpress NOT the vendor until you receive the item, inspect it and then you can either approve aliexpress to pay the vendor or deny them, if you deny them however you need a good reason like something was broken.

After opening it to evaluate it's condition I was quite surprised, it was very lightweight and solid, only had 3 hours of battery life but for a £200 laptop with 6gb of ram and an old i3 I wasn't that fussed about the battery life

>>52699410
I've bought shirts, they where pretty comfy.
>>
>>52699410
Asian sizing is terribly small and the measurements they put in the description is usually off. There is promising pieces, though you should be very careful when ordering. I used to buy replica designer clothing.
>>
>>52699433
3d printed shirts are pretty cool. I bought lots of those on taobao when I was in China.
>>
>>52699410
Sure. I got quite a few. Some were for a girl, some for myself.

No girl clothes for myself, but you get the idea.

Either way, if you pay attention to sizing it's usually fine. Some clothes only fit underweight (by BMI and everything, not the US "oh, they're so slim, no huge fucking pot belly") people with no muscles in the right size, though, you very often want one size bigger.
>>
>>52699365
Yeah, batteries are ok to buy. Lots of products that people here buy have batteries in them, bluetooth devices, laptops, phones, etc. all bateries generally have higher stated capacity than they really have.

You can expect the cheaper batteries, and basically all non-brand powerbanks to have greatly exaggerated capacity. Like half of the stated capacity at best. Sometimes they are even filled with sand.

Chink batteries aren't terribly unsafe though.

How much and where? What kind of battery life do you get with it? I may consider that one despite the OTG connector on the tablet instead of a full size connector.

>>52693257
I have a surface pro 2 and it's great. I replaced my Fujitsu T2020 (essentially an older X220t) with it and it's an absolute blast to take notes on. I've been having issues lately with palm rejection not working at all so when I use it with the pen I temporarily disable all touch input through the device manager. I'm currently looking for something to replace my pro 2 since it's a bit heavier and the battery life sucks. As far as I can tell though the Cube i7 Stylus (and Cube iWork11) and Teclast X98 Pro, Teclast X2 Pro, and Teclast X16 Pro are the only chink tablets worth a damn with digitizers.

>>52704097
I've noticed this trend with a lot of chinese stuff that they are seeming perfect in every way except for one glaring flaw, like no gigabit on an ac router or people who still put otg ports on tablets when there is more than enough room for a full size port (and they have them on their own other models!)
>>
>>52704370

I think I paid about £230 with DHL shipping to get the tablet and the keyboard dock. Battery life is about 7-8 hours.

I had a Chuwi Vi-10 which had the full size USB ports on. I gave to my dad and he put Windows 10 on it, runs better than it did with Windows 8.1.

Honestly the Chinese tablets are amazing value, I would recommend staying with the known brands like Cube, Chuwi and Telcast though.
