I had no idea they still use braille. I honestly thought most blind use screen readers.
>>
>>52622980

ah yes, enabling more genetic garbage to feed upon the carcass of earth with a new shiny product™
>>
>>52622980
yeah gotta corner that lucrative braille printer market
>>
yeah I'd love to buy a specific machine that helps me interact with the outside world made out of material that will break easier than the competition
>>
>>52623084
actually braile printers are all expensive since so few companies make them. a cheap new competitor could make a killing.

Did he make the loo comes to the poo?
>>
How fast can blind people "read" braille anyway? The average human reads text at 800 wpm.
>>
Nice printer, Shubham.

>His father, himself an engineer and serial entrepreneur who works at Intel

It's his dad's project, he's using his son as a mascot for the free publicity and marketing.

/g/ is probably the last board on 4chan to produce memes.

If that's nothing of value then pull my finger and fart in my ear.
>>
>>52623121
are you actually retarded? You can't make 'a killing' selling a cheap item with a practically nonexistent market.
>>
>>52623121

The guy has 5 engineers, so he probably needs 1 admin. With other costs, you need to bring in about $850k per year to be successful. Assume he sells the product for $700 and pockets $350, he needs to sell 2.5k of these per year.
Now there are 200M blind people in the world. But more than 2/3 earn less than $1000 a month (66M). About 10% read braille (7M). Maybe half have something they could hook the printer up to (3.5M). Half already have an expensive braille printer (1.75M). Half prefer to use some sort of text to speech (875k) Half are buying a braille printer through insurance and don't care about price (440k). 10% never hear about your product (400k).
So your market is about 400k people. If a average consumer buys 2 in a 50 year lifetime, 16,000 printers are bought a year. I think I've been very generous with my assumptions, and the actual market size is much lower. But still the new product would need to capture over 20% of the world market to survive. And the market for braille is actually rapidly shrinking, not growing.
>>
>>52623202

Are you fucking retarded or what? Theres a whole food industry for this
>>
>>52623206
Your sarcasm detector is broken. It is obviously bullshit.
>>
>>52622980
Is this the clock kid?
>>
>>52623159
It doesn't really matter because blind people can't read anything other than braille.

Holy shit no, the average is like 200-250. 800 is crazy, thats rainman shit.
>>
>>52623216

Nevermind me. I thought this printed edible pastry.
>>
>>52623175

99% of these "child prodigy" stories are exactly that. The child of an engineer invents a new product, the child of a programmer develops some new algorithm or software, the child of a fashion designer is starting their own clothes line, the child of a world class musician is amazing at playing piano, etc. etc. It's parents forcing their passions on their kids or parents using kids to promote their own work.

oh shit my bad, I'm tired. You are correct though, piece of shit is piece of shit.

Ya know, I've never met ANYONE who was blind due to genetics. Viruses and accidents, plenty, but genetics? Never.

>lego
>cheap

i wonder why braile printers are so expensive?
must be all of those special components you need to punch fucking holes right?
no its because nobody fucking buys them.
>>
>>52623254
The 3d printer we deserve.
>>
>>52623252
What the fuck. I speak at 200 wpm. Are people really incapable of reading faster than listening?
>>
>>52623283
Is Lego really that expensive? I live maybe 25mins from the factory in Denmark and they have a "box" with just random bricks in them, for like 100$. It's a pretty big box too.
>>
>>52622980
well I made https://www.moviemagnet.net so that at least counts for something. right, anons? anons...
>>
>>52623316
Apparently. The closest i know of anyone reading that fast is a local savant. Autistic guy that can't tie his shoes and yells instead of just speaking normally.
>>
>>52623252
Holy shit I am way slower than I thought. I got 330 wpm with 82% comprehension and I believed the guy that said humans read at 800 wpm.
>>
>>52623159
>average human reads text at 800 wpm
lol no, more like 400 wpm if they're paying attention

>How fast can blind people "read" braille anyway?
I read at ~500-600wpm comprehensive, which I guess is pretty decent for someone who can see.
The lady friend on the other hand reads braille at like ~350-450 wpm which is supposedly pretty fast. But she's an avid novel reader, so it's not too surprising.

Maybe my mind is already conditioned to think less of brownies, but I seriously can't stop reading his name as: Subhuman Banerjee.

But I'm glad for the guy, he gets to play with Legos, something that is meant for children under 12.

yes lego is expensive
and its shit now they add way too many new elements. this week i saw a model of a car that had the whole front, windshield and doors as a single piece. fucking garbage.
technic used to be top tier but all this studless construction is bullshit. fine you can build tighter with it but big fucking blank panels now? no studs anywhere at all? into the trash.
lego should use bricks for smooth sides and studs always on top OR specially made flat smooth pieces. not fucking studless technic transporter beds. gay as fuck.

It´s important to namedrop both Intel and Google in combination with ethnic whizkid ads so edu people know how to spend their yearly funding :^)
>>
After eating his daily meal of Mountain Dew™ and Doritos™, Shubham asked his Intel™ dad how blind people read. "Google™ it", his Intel™ dad replied. Using his Intel™-based workstation with state of the art graphics by Nvidia™, Razer™ keyboard and optimized Microsoft™-operating system, Google™ pointed him in the right direction. Shubham used the Googled™ information to utilize Lego™ to create his revolutionary device that had no resemblance to Lego™ dot matrix printer projects. Invest in young minds today, invest in PepsiCo™, Intel™, Google™, Nvidia™ Razer™, Microsoft™ and Lego™. You aren´t a white privileged male CIS-gendered rapenazi shitlord, are you? :^)
