I made a classifieds ad scraper yesterday, and set the complete category scan delay to 4-6 minutes (random) and individual ad scraping to 0.5-1 seconds. I also randomly choose from a list of legit-looking user agents to connect with Jsoup.

The robots.txt for the site looks like this:
User-agent: *
Allow: /assets/
Disallow: /mailclick/
Disallow: /ajax/
Disallow: /ru/ajax/
Disallow: /my/
Disallow: /ru/my/
Disallow: /unsubscribe/
Disallow: /ru/unsubscribe/

The content I am scraping is located at /item/ and /buy/.

Will my setup get me blacklisted?

since an electric motor generates movement when current is applied to it, can it work the other way, as in generating current if you manually spin (in this case) the fan?

is this why you should hold the fans if you're gonna blow air into them to remove dust? so the motor doesn't send potentially dangerous current to the motherboard or whatever?

I decided to have a break on software dev and try out some web development. Learning basic html and css first.

If I have a div with an id, how do I change the style of an element inside of that div, without changing all of them?

For example
<div id="foo">
<h1>Hello</h1>
<p>Nice to meet you</p>
<p>Goodbye</p>

I'd like to change the text color of the <p> element inside the foo div, but not the color of the <h1>.
#foo { color:red; }

If it helps, remember this:

Most programs on your theoretical fuckhuge processor wouldn't run much faster than on a 4-core 4Gz processor.

Software rarely takes advantage of more than 4 cores, or so.

If you're performing lots of calculations on an operating system with many processes running, then yes, that processor would start to show more utilization.

I just reinstalled windows 7 twice, after installing the NVIDIA drivers for my GTX 780ti, the system no longer functions correctly.

It goes past the welcome screen and loads the background with the correct resolution, but my start menu, and pretty much every other graphical component of windows doesn't show up.

If I press ctrl+alt+supr I get a black screen instead of the usual options like task manager, log off, switch user, etc. If I press alt+t to open the task manager in said black screen, nothing happens. The system isn't frozen but it doesn't work at all.

What could be the issue? I already attempted installing an older version of the driver, and even installed it manually in the device manager with no success.

Additionally why is nvidia/windows such a piece of shit? I just spent ~10 hours reinstalling all my shit and I get this.

Speed isn't a good measure if processor power. It would take you longer to move house with a dozen Porsches than it would with a semi. And even with the sports cars, there would be things too big to fit in them at all.

The system you're describing is more like a super computer with hundreds of parallel processing units. It's still running at 4GHz. But the amount of processing power is many times greater.

It's only confusing because you're trying to take it all in at once. Just read it bit by bit. It might help you if you make an outline of each parameter you need to have in your class and what kind of values it will accept, for example

item name: alphabetic 2-15 characters
item size: integer 1-48

etc and then work from there.

Not tech. But no. They wouldn't be liable for negligence any more so than someone providing a faulty power supply for a desktop they've taken to a computer repair shop. If there's no outward sign of damage, poison, etc., then no reasonable person would assign them duty to verify the safety of the PSU, or the cake.

It already turbos to 3.9. Mine is at 4.7 with a 212 EVO. I'm sure the h50 would be alright but you might as well just get the h100 and call it a day
>>
>>52529412
Not sure.
If it is like c, it reserves place in the memory once you name it, and if there are, loads deafult values for it.

Try naming an instance without insantiating it and see what you can do, or the other way around.

Work at a direct mail company, and we have a client who wants us to print a job with 100 different letter setups in it (We pick one for each record based on all sorts of variables)

We have never done anything nearly this ambitious (We have done 25 before, but not more).

They sent every letter as a layer in one PDF, meaning that we need to pull every layer separate so that we can pull it into our program as an image to print.

Foo is some custom object type created elsewhere.

Foo a1, a2;
creates two variables: 'a1' and 'a2'. Both of these variable are of the type 'Foo', but don't have any value assigned.
>>
>>52529412
>>52529662
To expand on this, without actually assigning them, you could still pass them to a function that requires a Foo object as a parameter.

This will compile fine, but as soon as that function tries to reference one of Foo's properties, say
Foo.dicksize
, the code will throw a NullReferenceException at you during runtime.

Looks like a corrupted driver installer, something like this happened 3 times to me, did you boot in safe mode too? if not try it, redownload the driver and make sure the download was completed without damage, sadly I don't think nvidia provides check sums for driver installers (I never noticed at least), so you'll have to rely on the file size.

Of course, uninstall all nvidia drivers from control panel first if you can, before installing again.

If it still doesn't work then it might be related to the mobo's drivers, maybe they got corrupted for some reason.

I feel completely retarded asking this question but here it goes. Some time ago I read that SSDs have to be connected to a power source at least once a year to not start losing data. Now I have an SSD laying around that's not being used, the data on it is not important and would be wiped anyway when I use it again. What I wonder is will storing it for a long time actually damage it and make it useless eventually?

I've got a stupid question.

I bought a prebuilt Dell a couple of years ago, when I first got it thing ran quickly, booted in about two minutes. Now it's starting to run slow, I've cleared all the temp files and all that shit, scanned it for malware and it came back clean did a check disk and nothing particularly bad popped up but now it seems to be playing up again. I tried booting it today and it told me the hard drive wasn't found, did that a couple of times and then found it but still ran really slow, even when I booted it in safe mode it still ran slow. I've never cleaned it out before but I doubt a bit of dust is going to make the hard drive not work 2 out of 3 times. I've tried googling the issue and I've followed the advice but to no avail, does anyone have any idea what the issue could be. I'm sure people here will understand that I don't want to take it to a shop and have them look at it.
>>
just built my first comp, major noob, and my cpu is going over 80°C when im not doing anything and i think it is because i never applied thermal paste, so are these temps normal, and do i need this paste asap or even at all?

this is my assignment:
Chapter 1 Assignment - PC Hardware Research Activity

Summary: The purpose of this activity is for you to take the information you learned in Chapter 1 about PC hardware and perform research to learn about some of the different manufacturers of PC components and pricing of the components. In this assignment I am asking you to go to www.newegg.com and select all of the components you need to build a custom PC with an emphasis on selecting the higher end components while staying within your budget of $1,000. For this assignment we are assuming that you already have an LCD monitor, keyboard, mouse, and the Windows 7 or Windows 8 Operating System so all you need to focus on is the system unit including the case and power supply. If the motherboard you select includes on-board (integrated) video, be sure to state that in the description.

Make sure the hardware including CPU you select is compatible with your motherboard, that you maximize performance, and stay within your budget of $1,000. Please visit www.newegg.com and click on the Computer Hardware link on the left hand side of the web page to get started. You can add the items to your Cart and then View Shopping Cart to keep track of your budget, be sure to consider sales tax and shipping in your overall budget.

Please write down the hardware device manufacturer and model, performance description, Newegg product link, and the price of each piece of hardware you choose. Include tax and shipping in your total.

HELP ME OUT AND IT'LL BE APPRECIATED

So I just did some reading on DevOps and my understanding is that it's a way of thinking for software deployment where the goal is to just churn out shit on a daily basis and pass it on from department to department (devs to OT, to quality assurance, etc.) expecting someone to find an error and if they don't, they put it on the market?
That sounds horrible, and like it's only meant to flood the market with pointless software. I read that companies make tens of releases per day just because. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding something?

First, for the price of a 4 gig 960 you can get a 380X which is way better.
Second, unless you're going to do a lot of CPU-intensive stuff, getting a cheaper CPU and spending that extra cash on a better graphics card might be a better idea
Third, get 2x4 gb of RAM
Fourth, 750W is overkill for that rig
>>
why does thermal paste need to be replaced? does it evaporate or become less heat-conductive over time or some shit?

When re-applying thermal paste to a computer, is the paste brand important at all or is it one type fits all? Also, is the more expensive item in pic related going to make a difference for a mid-range rig compared to the cheaper alternatives or is it just a necessity for high-end ones with higher temps?
