You only had 8 gigs of RAM beforehand?
Is a case an upgrade?
I have this HAF 922 and it's loud as shit so I picked up a fractal R5 for $80 today cus I heard its pretty silent
I hope I didn't go from one meme case to another

yes. then i decided to move my web development environment to ubuntu virtual machine with 2GB of memory and my 8 GB ram wasn't enough to run software like photoshop in parallel who has a tendency to slow down and occupy 5.6 GB of memory after you've edited a couple of high-res stock photos for your websight, not to mention run illustrator in parallel on top of that. now this issue is solved and even gave my ubuntu vm additional gig of memory for dat web browsing (fucking memory hogs of browsers these days, opera presto could have >100 tabs open without any slowdown on a machine with 2GB of ram running windows 7).
a card reader
I bought a Dell R710 server with 4x512GB SSDs and 24GB RAM. I'm going to use it for SmartOS.

Last buy was a 212 EVO
4690k now at 4.7GHz 1.295V
Told my fan controller that it can go fuck itself and have all my fans connected to my mobo at low rpm. Loudest thing in my pc is my hdd now.
Adding a couple fans to my PC because the sound proofing shit I added acted as an insulator.

No upgrades since October, but I did overclock my RAM from 8-8-8-24 1600MHz to 9-10-10-28 2133MHz last night. Spent a few hours tinkering with voltage and secondary timings to get it spot on. Passes all stress tests fine including MemTest86.
Absolutely useless except for benchmark wanking, but it was fun.
