Make sure HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT has a .mkv folder containing a key of ShellEx that has another key {e357fccd-a995-4576-b01f-234630154e96} with value {9DBD2C50-62AD-11D0-B806-00C04FD706EC}

I had new mp4 thumbnails not generate after unintsalling mpc-hc beta a few days ago.
You can see the same ShellEx keys in other format folders.
