Use ctrl+k to search. In Firefox it will automatically go to the search box, and in Chrome it will put a question mark before your query in the address bar.

It is absolutely based, you can configure you own search engine shortcuts. Like, if I want to search Trump videos on YouTube I press ctrl+L to get into the omnibar, type 'y donald trump' and press enter. If I didn't have it configured, I would type 'y' so that the autocomplete suggests YouTube, then press tab and type in the query. Life doesn't get much comfier than this.

I was looking at this scratching my head wondering what the letters could mean until I fed it to google and found the missing letters complete a coherent title. I thought I was supposed to see "nigger" at the bottom. everything else confused the shit out of me.

yeah? that's where I go when I need informations on individual series. It was the best database before they started removing informations about fansubs, though I didn't find a better alternative yet, except AniDB but there're no comments about subs on 90% of series there.
