I've tried all the main shit ones but they all start using like insane amount of cpu power if I leave them on for a few hours. No apparent reason really. I just want a recommendation of a non bloated barebones browser with regular updates and an adblocker.

Sounds like you need to upgrade your PC.

Web browsers are shit by definition. The cuntfest the major browser vendors do is only a minor aspect of this.

Get used to it and embrace native clients like native mail clients and native office software.

but the dev also has a stick up his ass about implementing things because he wants to stick to the man. So even if I like PM more than anything, every browser is a piece of shit by some sort of common principle.

Safari ain't half bad on homOSeX, desu.
If you're on Linux, just use Surf from suckless.
If you're on Windows, GET REKT there are no good browsers on Windows. Pale Moon is the least awful one, I guess.

Write your own barebones HTTP implementation in C, download webpages with it, print the pages SRC, read it with your eyes and render it in your brain

Similar situation as you. Stuck on an older computer and Chrome wants to be a laggy piece of shit. Giving Midori a try and so far, it's quite nice.

Safari, if you're willing to overlook the lack of extensions

It would depend on the length of the video.

Safari is lightweight as fuck, and blazingly fast. There isn't another browser I've ever used that can get locked 60FPS scrolling, JS animations, with the stability of Safari. Basically, other browsers a shit.

Besides, what extensions do you even need, other than an adblocker?
