Will there even be a distro that can compete with this?
Yes it's called Ubuntu
I don't think there'll ever be an OS that will gather more information from you.
Sorry.
>>52378842
The only reason why /g/ users worry about this is because most of them are into CP and loli.
>>52378854
Why do you wear clothes?
>>52378854
Not sure man.I am pretty sure I would have a hard time facing the interview board if they knew what types of hentai and gore I watch

You are really new to emplyee information gathering then
It's called Remix OS
>>52378854
You say that like it's a bad thing.
>>52378842
;^) this. No OS will be able to compete with Win10 about gathering/data mining users' information/data.

>le nothing to hide face
Dunno about you but I find the idea of my computing being remotely controlled by poo in loos to be uncomforting.
Every distro.
>>52378799
No...Linux is stuck on the command line. This keeps users away.
.and thus keeps developers away.
>>52378979

Go back to /pol/

If Microsoft get what they want, nope never.
They now have total control over the OS, they can read up logs on issues, find the most used features, the least used features, detect performance issues and push updates to "improve" their OS regardless of what the user want.
(In most cases the user is to blame for leaving the system insecure by not updating.)
Unless they fuck up really bad, this will only continue.
By giving telemetry steroids, Windows will become more and more efficient, and by locking updates to be always activated it will soon be the most stable and secure OS.
>>52379413
>become more secure by installing more backdoors
microsoft logic right there
>>52379413
>soon be the most stable and secure OS.
I'm going to bribe some MS employees and get a backdoor in an inconspicuous update.
Then, I'll have access to every damn win10 product; because people can't wait to test if a given update is safe.
>>52379413
this desu senpai
Apple proved normies are too reatardedd to even handle Windows responsibly. They don't care about updates no matter what their importance, they don't care about freetard "freedums", they don't care about their privacy to begin with and post it all over facebook, they don't care about computers, period. They'd much rather have MS or Apple take care of everything for them, and simply see computers as a means for doing what they actually want or need to do. And as long as this is the general populace mindset, and it likely will be, things will only go further in this direction.
Freetards need to spend less time defending their shit tier 70's UIs and CLI bullshit and wake up and actually put forth some semblance of effort, because even Ubuntu is a complete joke in usability to this day for anything outside of web browsing.
