Just yesterday did the PiFm thing on a PiZero running Rasbian Lite (no GUI).
Transmitted Orsen Wells' The War of the World to my Baofeng UV-5R via FM.
Was fun.

setup a DNS with a hostfile to provide adblocking across your entire home network

How did you get RPi0 ?
Things got sold out in 2 minutes, both at release and restock.

Isn't it slow as shit? Or do you use it for just small files? Because afaik you're limited to usb 2.0 drives or a large SD card.

Havn't really used it for much. I've been using it for tiny networking projects like nas, gonna make a little minecraft server, and some other stuff.

I've been using terminal to access it from across the room. Thinking about downloading an x11 client so I can remote the GUI.

I deploy small web applications for my family on raspberries.
It's a neat little server. I even purchased a case and a heatsink for the CPU and RAM.

Why do people do this?

Not him but got one in UK on launch day from PiMoroni.

On my case, the heatsink is integrated with the case itself. You put a little thermal pad on the chip and screw the board into the case. Apparently it adds stability if you overclock it.

It's just a little plastic chip the size of its processor. Simple and cheap, really.

I have it on my Orange Pi because it reduces the temperature under load for almost 10 degrees

It is quite slow especially because I have to use the shitty wifi dongle

I've got 2 32gb flash drives just for little transfers between devices and some small backups

You also need a powered USB hub if you want to use any drives so that sucks. This is my first home server so I was just messing around with it so see how it works... I would not recommend it for large file transfers

RP2 here and it's very very good. A PC would be faster I suppose, but for the price it works amazingly well. I make them for all my friends and family.
