Hello /g/uys do you have any tip for small notebook/ultrabook smaller than 15,6 in different price ranges? I was thinking about mac air or dell xps 13 but that's high tier price range..any recommendations for lower price?
>>52348879
Oh...i will be moving often and i need it for photo edit mostly (lightroom), and programming so better keyboard would be great...i dont play games
>>52348879
bump
if you get a xps 13, don't go for that super high resolution model. i got one and ended up returning it. 1080 is all you need (and honestly all it can handle)
>>52348879
I literally just bought myself an Acer R11 (not chromebook version).
11" screen
Quad core 2.4Ghz processor
4GB DDR3 RAM
500GB hdd (replaced with a 120gb SSD and turned the 500gb into an external)
Literally paid the equivalent of $300 for it brand new
>>52349409
hmm isnt that 11 screen small for work?
>>52349390
Yea higher resolution than 1080p on that small screen is worthless
>>52349455
>hmm isnt that 11 screen small for work?
I own a PC and do most of my work on there.
I like to travel light so the smaller the better. You get used to it and the DPI on this is pretty decent so I can still fit quite a bit onto the screen. Granted I won't be working on it for more than 2 hours at a time so it's not an issue for me
>>52349409
>4gb of ram
you almost had it anon
>>52349527
>you almost had it anon
what the fuck do you mean?
>>52349409
Where'd you get it from? Isn't Acer hardware really shit?
>>52349564
from a store in my country
seems to be fine on here. Not sure where that comes from?
>>52349544
It's 2016 anon
>>52348919
if you go cheaper, you sacrifice screen quality, which is important for photo editing. although I couldn't imagine using LR on a dinky screen, anyway.
>>52349646
>It's 2016 anon
what the fuck do I need more than 4gb of RAM on my netbook for?
Got an Asus Zenbook recently and it's perfect as far as I'm concerned. The battery life is unreal. I sat with twitch open on a source quality stream while Web browsing and watching 1080p YouTube videos and the battery icon wouldn't budge. It's also pretty budget if you don't wanna spend over 900$-1300$
macbook > ultrashit
prove me wrong
>>52349801
burden of proof lies with you after that statement so fuck off
>>52349828
Macs are the same price as XPS13 yet macs have
1) Better hardware (Video Cards etc)
2) Better software (MacOS)
3) Much longer lifetime
4) Student discount
>>52349867
>MacOS
>better software
0/10
And any laptop has a extremely long lifetime if you don't beat the shit out of it.
>>52349867
yeah, no. Not even close
Mac hardware, whilst dazzeling you with numbers, is objectively worse and gimped.
OS X is the joke of the tech community all around the world
wtf is a lifetime based on?
>dumb them down while they're young
unethical behaviour
>>52349867
Macbook air is the direct competition to XPS 13 and the air has a worse CPU, worse display res, worse RAM amount and worse SSD
>>52349867
Why is bullshit like this allowed on this board.
>>52349896
lel are you seriously implying that Windowshit 10 is better than MacOS?
>>52349646
>>52349747
I'm still waiting for my answer...
>>52349912
>wtf is a lifetime based on?
the fact that xps13 constantly breaks down. read the reviews.
meanwhile Macs are literally famous for their longer lifetime
>>52350004
Are you an idiot or do you just live under a rock of two OS model?
>>52349867
>getting this #rekt

>>52350015

I've been wanting an XPS 13 but i can't justify $1000 for a non-upgradable laptop with pretty weak specs at the low end.
