How much better is Skylake compared to Haswell? Is there any reason to buy a 6500 for the same money as 3770?

>How much better is Skylake compared to Haswell
not a lot
>Is there any reason to buy a 6500 for the same money as 3770?
DDR4 platform and slightly less power usage. Better single core performance. If you have a good use for more cores the 3770 would be better.

He didn't say anything about what he was currently running.

The 6700k is %5 better than the 4790k, go figure.
>tfw the bump from Core 2 Duo to Sandy Bridge was a major performance jump
>tfw people cant even fake excitement about our yearly 10% performance jumps
Yay Skylake..

skylake is another huge improvement, don't listen to the amd shills here
amd is putting alot of effort in making intel looking bad in hope to boost the hype around zen
i say go for it, it's worth every penny
there's a reason they called it 'has lel'
>>52331643
Skylake has a lot of fancy stuff like m.2 and ddr4 support but if you don't care about that then you can save money sticking with Haswell as performance wise there's not much difference.

>Skylake
>more expensive mobo and ram
>little benefit
>ddr4 big number means better meme
>Skylake architecture was created at Intel Israel
Im sticking with Haswell 4790k

CPUs have gone virtually nowhere since Nahelem, much less from Haswell to Broadwell to Skylake.
You'll see maybe a 5% improvement clock-for-clock and maybe 10-15% overall improvement if you get a faster clocked CPU.
If Zen actually makes AMD somewhat competitive again, maybe Intel will try to get serious again and quit jewing everyone to death.
