I think you are right about Strong AI being impossible to achieve. Given that we have applications that have around 3m+ neurons that don't work, it isn't a physical limitation thing, its purely that we don't understand how to effectively model and represent data.
Will Quantum computing enable us to bluff more impressive weak AI by brute force, or are we actually limited in out methods of representation of knowledge?

i think before we can develop something that remotely resembles strong ai, we first need to understand the human brain. we also need to define what intelligence is, before we can recreate it. i started ai at university but dropped it in favor of cognitive science for that very reason
what do you think who's going to have the best ai in 20 years? google, microsoft ibm or facebook? what are the recent developments?

DeepMind apparently made some sort of big breakthrough and Google snapped them up, but unlike the BostonDynamics deal, DeepMind only showed there work to a few investors.
