I have a lot of DVDs I'd like to save to a hard drive. What's the best program to burn them?
You want to burn a DVD to your harddrive? Try gasoline.
I tried a program called ImgBurn, kept getting errors trying to create an iso, plus I think it has adware.
HandBrake

She's kind of cute
DVD Decrypter and ImgBurn used to do everything, make an exact iso copy and take out the copy protection and region code, but I guess some legal things changed this.

Dvdfab was always my favorite

DVD decrypter still works perfectly, however they got sued and told to stop development and then created a new copy protection with simulations of broken DVDs.
There was some slysoft software that decrypted everything on the fly but can't look it up because mobile.

DVD decrypter should run on Windows 7. Try it. I use vobcopy on Lunix. There is some neat MPEG2 stream ripper on Windows that extracts nice single MPEG2 files, but I forgot the name of it. It had a soccerball icon. Otherwise use Handbrake for ripping to MPEG4.

Nice thread, post more
Crap, I just tried ImgBurn on a 2001 DVD and it didn't work. Some of these programs listed aren't free and some seem to compress or re-encode the DVD. Does anyone use a free program that takes out the copy protection and region coding and let you save an iso image?
