Yeah, its faster than any third party add-on, or, have the important stuff pinned on the tarkbar, just like on 7.

I've been using windows 8.1 with classic shell for almost 2 months now and it's basically windows 7 with 2 control panels and has network connections (change adapter settings) being two more clicks away

not enough to make me quit it but if shit hits the fan and I do need to reinstall I will be going back to 7 again
