How bad could it be?
It's $1
How much of a difference will there be between this and arctic silver or coolermaster?

It's the gold stuff.
Gold is best, isn't it?
You win first place you get the gold.

>doesn't know about platinum
ohboy.

Just make your own, mix a little water with some corn flour into a nice thick paste, use a very small amount on your cpu and your good to go, my oc i7 has never had a problem.

Does this actually work?

Gold or silver?
>>52198354
Either will do. Silver is a slightly better conductor, but you probably won't notice.
Don't do what anon said

I can vouche for the bootleg thermal paste, every time I need to change it I end up having pâté for the whole weekend. Shit's delicious and refreshing.

Don't do what this guy said, it's the recipe for mustard gas.
I actually use toothpaste - and it works OK.
I use semen.
Thermal grease isnt about heat per se, its just a medium to fill the tiny cracks between the CPU and the cooler, helps heat dissipate.
Just about anything works better than air

Mayonnaise.
Not even kidding.

It's not real silver, just the color.
They look identical in performance, only difference is aesthetics.
Is 8c extra worth it for gold?
I like it more but it's not like I'll be looking at it when it's pressed between a processor and a heatsink.
>>52198771
Yes but a less effective thermal grease wouldn't let the heat pass through as effectively.
I'm asking how much of a difference there will be.
>>52199259
just buy a big tube of plain old white.
the sticker-like things are also good for some laptops.

Do whatever. It's eight cents
