As a child, we wouldn't see our grandparents much - a handful of days a year, maybe. They only lived two hours away, but being in the UK that's a moderate distance, and for little five year old me and seven year old brother, that's a long time in the car.

A few months ago I was looking through an old harddrive I'd had lying around. In the docs folder, there was a randomly named text file with just an old aol email address inside. I remember he was showing me how to use this old, gas-powered, brass toy train he used to play with when he was a kid, and we were talking about technical things - at which point, he had a bunch of questions about PCs and was proud he'd started using emails, and he wanted me to email him and help with the more techy side of computers.
He passed away six years ago now, and yes, I'd very much like a hug. One last time.

If you want small file size your best option is downscale (say to 576p or 480p) and upcale with something nice like ewa_lanczossharp/jinc on playback. This is objective fact. x265 is not ready yet.

I had about 600+ partially snatched torrents in utorrent 2.2.1 which I couldn't be bothered to migrate over to any other client due to aforementioned partial snatching and every torrent being located in different folders all over my drive.

4/5 average on subjective testing is effectively transparent. You can get up to 4.5/5, but that requires exponentially more bitrate.
A quick way to guesstimate what bitrate is required for 4/5 quality is this formula:
Height x Width x Frame Rate x Motion Factor x Encoding Factor (0.1 for H264, 0.05 for H265)
1920 x 1080 x 29.97 x 1 x 0.05 = 3034 kbit/s
Combined with 36kbps opus audio, that's 2.63GB for a 2-hour file (5.73GB for H264 w/ 448kbps 5.1 channel AAC audio). Note that the highest quality 1080p non-3D rips you see are generally around ~7GB.

I used --limit-refs 3 and --limit-modes to save time; it only reduces quality by a tiny amount.

Also you said that Opus has to be at least 64kbit/s. Obviously you have never encoded with Opus before. 64-72kbit/s is the sweet spot, but 64kbit/s+ is only necessary for music (and its adequate for that). For films/porn, it's pretty much speech which can be encoded as low as 32kbit/s without any annoying quality loss, but I choose 36kbit/s to be on the safe side. Anything above 48kbit/s is overkill for speech with Opus.
