Now that the Christmas rush is over, what is /g/ waiting for in the mail?

So what's your plan with all that?
A USB powered Bluetooth receiver and amp?

Nah.
I found an old lcd tv out by the road.
Took out the speaker, want to make my own portable boombox.
5w 12ohm iirc, that's why I got the 10w amp.

Also have a lot of spare 18650s to toss in for amazing battery life.

Oh solid, that'll be cool. What kind of enclosure are you planning on putting it all in?

Going to cut my own.
Pulled the drawers out from a fridge someone threw out. Free perspex. Almost 2mm thick too, very solid.

Usually I prefer buying my stuff rather than pulling junk, but perspex can be pretty expensive.

Currently my main concern is, I built something similar without Bluetooth (3w+3w) and when it's charging it makes an annoying buzzing sound. So I'm trying to find a way to filter input noise/ripple. I pulled these capacitors out from the tv too, I'm just trying to figure out how to use them, or if I can use them.

I've wanted to do the same thing too for a while now, but not sure what I'd use as a battery.

Get a dead laptop battery for cheap, it'll be full of 18650 cells.
Usually only one cell has gone bad making the whole pack stop working, so you can salvage the rest.
Micro USB charging modules can be had for something like 10 pieces for $3, and you can connect them in parallel for higher input current.

I've got a friend who runs a local pc repair shop, any dead laptop battery he's going to throw out, he gives to me instead. I've salvaged more batteries than I think I'll ever use.

Most the 18650s I get from dead laptop batteries hold between 1900 and 2300mAh capacity still. I test them before deciding whether they're healthy enough to keep.

Is it possible to recharge that kind of battery with ordinary battery chargers?

You can also find fully working laptop batteries pretty cheap.

And no, the voltage and chemistry is different.
Normal aa and aaa batteries are 1.2v
I don't remember the peak charge or discharge.
An 18650 is 3.7v
It'll go up to 4.2v and discharge to 3v

I'd recommend these, I personally use them in my projects and they work great.
For my last speaker I had 2 of these in parallel, charged my batteries up fast at 2A.

Waiting for all this to upgrade my poweredge 2950 so it can take 4tb drives

Is there any advantage to using sas instead of sata?
I almost got a 15k rpm drive, it was dirt cheap, but it was sas so I changed my mind.
>>

No idea it came with 2 73gb 15.5k drives but thanks to intercompatiblity I'm going to shove 4 4tb wd reds in there and do a small raid 5 so I can get slightly more space than a raid 1 for my backups
