You really think this is a metric that's worth mentioning anymore? Do you not know how this crowdfunding system works?

Probably a Z8300, knowing all these people always hype the max number they can get for cheapest. (Z8300 has turbo freq of 1.84GHz).

It's pretty much this (costs 20 pounds more than their promised price)

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/CHUWI-VI8-2GB-32GB-8-inch-IPS-Intel-Z3735F-Windows-8-1-Bluetooth-Dual-Cameras-Multi/32246675377.html?spm=2114.01020208.3.10.naFs7W&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_1,searchweb201644_1_79_78_77_82_80_62_81,searchweb201560_6

but without a screen, cameras, speakers and all other stuff that could easily bring this down to 45 pounds.

It's nice and price-adequate but nothing revolutionary.

Too expensive to be honest. That z8300 intel atom is like $20, this is a rip off. Still 10x better than an assberry pie though.
>>
>>52176856
>Why did this get funded when it basically exists?
Crowdfunding basically takes advantage of peoples' ignorance. It's the 2016 equivalent of TV infomercials. There are tons of Kickstarters that got gobs of money and all they're doing is making Raspberry Pi kits.
>>
>>52177314
kickstarter has become just a group buy option for people who have never seen the item before.

a couple years age my buddy showed me this kickstarter he backed which was a cell phone usb cord that had a little LED at the end of it that lit up when you grabbed it so you could plug the cable in at night.

i said it looked cool, but i didn't say that my fucking dads cell phone he bought months ago came with one for free

P.S I don't want something what costs loads of money.
>>

Who are these "single board" computers for? Why are the masses getting excited over them?

I'm excited for them now because I want to run a home-server 24/7 that costs basically nothing in electricity and 10-20 years down the road would be curious to see these types of computers compete with full-sized computers in terms of performance. However, I don't think normies care about having a home server.

For normies though, a Core2Duo computer from 2008 outperforms all of these Pi computers. If you're a poorfag, you're better off just getting a used C2D/Q6600 machine for under $50 on craigslist.
