hey /g/, so a while back I had a power surge or something that fried my integrated sound card, so I need to get a dedicated. I got pic related, and my sound works fine, but certain youtube vids/instagram vids just have no sound for me.

you're using stereo aren't you?
set your card from Surround to stereo in the software settings.
It's called dynamic range. If you only listen to horribly compressed shit, I bet it must be strange for you.
