Never, because Crysis isn't available for:

> 1) Linux
> 2) ARM
>>
>>52137392
I said in a similar form factor not the same architecture.
>>
>>52137415
Good luck getting Windows in anything that small and that cheap. Microsoft's commitment to this sort of hardware only goes as far as headless IOT devices, they have no interest in seeing the race to the bottom on the PC market going that low.

We're probably only a few years away from a sub $50 board with an AMD SOC that could run SteamOS games. Assuming that AMD gets their act together with drivers.
>>
well, a raspberry pi can successfully emulate most video games from before 1994ish, so i'd give it another 20 years

Not that cheap though.

Does not compute.
>>
>>52137667
Its ten times more expensive than the raspberry pi zero. Even then, they only manage Windows on those devices because Microsoft is dumping the software well below even their normal OEM rates to try to force their way into the market. Regulators should really take a look at that and stop it before Microsoft makes that market bloat and stagnate like they did to Netbooks.

just answer the question instead of trying to be a damn smartass
>>
>>52137770
The question is too specific to give a simple answer to. There are too many things in the way of running Crysis on a extremely cheap and small ARM based system.

I think he meant "games with decent graphics", not necessarily Crysis.
I'll rephrase OP's question: How long until we will see PC's the size of Raspberry Pi, that are able to run games with decent graphics?
>>
>>52137944
Even just based on size we're still a way off. AMD's SOC chips are too hot for that form factor, Intel's chips aren't powerful enough, and Nvidia can't sell an x86 SOC.
>>
>>52138022
He's not saying its going to be next year. He even specifically said to disregard architecture. He said, how long until boards this small are powerful enough to play a game such as crisis.
>>
15 years prolly
>>
>>52138088
If we disregard architecture and price, then somebody could do it today, but they're not going to because it wouldn't make sense.

In 2-3 years we'll have boards that size with SOCs more capable of running games. So 2018-2019.
>>
>>52137326
Assuming there was a port, today. Turn down the resolution enough, use lower res textures, etc, and it would run today. I'm not saying it would be a good frame rate, but it's doable.

Remember, when unreal came out, it was considered unplayable on machines with less than a tnt2, but gamers quickly figured out how to tweak it down to work.
>>
>>52137326
You can play now san andreas on your phone. So I would say about 3-4 years.

>How long until we will see PC's the size of Raspberry Pi, that are able to run games with decent graphics?
You have to define decent then. On raw specs, even the original pi whomps the PSP, so if you kept the psp resolution (480x270?) you should be able to do some stunning graphics.
>>
>>52138321

You could play GTA VC on PSP, a device from 2005.

So it will be at least another 10 years before something as resource hungry as Crysis can be run on mobile devices.
>>
>>52138398
I think it was actually 480x272 for some odd reason.
>>
>>52138398
Future "decent" is what we consider these days "ultra".
>>
>>52137392
One day anon, we will get the source code for crysis.

>>52137326
Practically almost right now

Excluding nvidia's tegra x1 that can surely run it (but needs a port for arm code) pretty fucking good you could always get a board with an Intel core M. Graphics performance will most likely be ass but it will run for sure, like crysis needs special requirements to run. It runs on 2ghz pentium 4s and requires 300mb of ram and ~300mb of vram (on ultra). Pair a core M with Windows xp and 1gb of ram and you can run crysis no problem
>>
>>52142032
I'm surprised the game don't crash on such a shit CPU.

>>
>>52142075
800x600 is pretty generous, you can find people running it at around 320x240 with a 300mhz cpu, literally a pentium 2

And remember that guy's got a 550mhz pentium 3, while the best pentium 3 @1.3ghz paired with a 8600 gt and more ram could probably pull out very decent framerates
>>
>>52142075
>"1999" PC
>has a 2004 Nvidia 6200

You do realize that the graphics card is responsible at least 70% for how well most games run. Not that I'm not impressed but adding the 6200 is kind of cheating.
