I'm trying to activate this computer which was originally windows 7 with i3 sandy bridge (my dad gets free shit from work), now I have a haswell i5. Does phoning up and saying my motherboard broke still work?
The activation settings doesn't give me a number.

MS had no problem with me entering a OEM key on a diffrent motherboard.
It was a 20USD OEM key bought from a key site.
Whats the practical difference between an official key from microsoft vs a dazloader key?
