Are the AD700s generally considered fatiguing headphones? After listening to music for only about an hour with them, I find that I get really tired of it and need a break. This doesn't happen for me with the Apple earbuds, which I can listen to for hours on end.

It's an open headphone which means it leaks sound, everyone will be able to hear what you're listening to. It however is better at closed headphones in everything except bloated bass which a lot of people like. It's also better for gaming in terms of pinpointing what direction something is coming from.
People recommend that the HD558 with a foam mod will make it sound near identical to the HD598 if you want to go cheaper. I'm not sure which is of better build quality though.

The microphone may pick up what's comin' out of the headphone. Sound leak won't decrease the sound quality of your headphones though. Closed headphones tend to sound more congested because sound has trouble escaping.

Both are sort-of neutral, but k702 is much brighter while HD600 is warmer, their stage is much different too, although that can't be measured yet, but you can test it for yourself for that.

Headphones with more open sound or "headstage" might be more immersive but I don't see how they could benefit you in any way in a video game. It's almost entirely just the skill of knowing how to listen and what to listen in games so play more and get good.

I have a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 1s, connected to a shitty Yamaha amp.
The left speaker's main driver (the tweeter works fine) only works when the music's pretty loud and then works even when I decrease the volume.
However, if I put my finger on the driver it stops working very easily, while if I touch the right speaker's driver it continues vibrating.

Not him, but the wording on mine is somewhat yellow. It's barely noticeable and honestly could just be from the yellow lighting in my room.
The metal on the band and the grill are the same color, but I don't know if they're different compared to what they're supposed to be normally.
My HM5's plastic gimbal cracked (as does everyone's) after a year.
I know this is a known issue with these headphones (or the nvx ones) and was wondering if anyone found a place to buy new ones without spending a lot of money 3d printing them.
In alternative, similar priced cans? Was thinking mdr v6 because i had those a few years ago but the left driver simply stopped working and I'm sick of buying crap that stops working after a year of use (I know they usually last a lifetime but it was my experience with them).

after owning nothing but earpods and various headsets (back before they were even advertised for 'gaming') i went and heard the big three: hd650, dt880 and k702 and did not experience the mindblowing difference people like to exaggerate.

I'm going to experience the AKG sound signature in a few days, when I supposedly get the K702. I have a X2 now and I find its sound a bit unsatisfying, especially for acoustic music. Hopefully the K702 will sound better to my ears.
Just blindly bought Fiio X1 because I liked it's design and it was in good price range.
Coming from ipod and sansa zip rockboxd I can say Fii O x1 wipes the fucking floor with them. I mean sansa zip is great but ipods are twice the price and half the performance.
Seriously it's like listening to my music for the first time again, I was expecting sansa clip with better build quality but ended up getting heaven.
