Apparently you don't. The anime was produced in 720p, then unscaled when made into a BD. Just because something is on a 1080p format doesn't mean it's source material wasn't lower resolution.
Some anime aren't BD upscales but the majority are.

Even Daiz knows the truth now. Hardly and anime are made at 720p anymore. They're all 800-900 with some actually at 1080. The people that cling to 720 in all cases, especially when they have 8TB of storage, are just sticking to old wives' tales of /a/ five years ago thinking that they've got inside information over plebs on reddit.
