To make my transition to linux smoother, I thought I'd make a list of windows apps I use pretty regularly use and ask for the Linux equivalents.
Art programs:
Paint tool sai, clip studio(gimp is not a fair replacement. Krita is unstable)
Media player:
Media player classic
Powerdvd for blurays
Audio:
Foobar2k with addons
PDF editor:
Adobe acrobat
Sync with Android phone:
Sidesync
Screencap:
Gyazo and puush
This I would like with Linux:
Good package manager so I can easily manage what I have installed and what I can/should remove.
Audio device manager(I use speakers, headphones with amp and dac, and headset).
That's all I could think of for now....
4chan really needs to implement a subscribe and upvote button.
>art program
PS in wine, pinta, inkscape, learn gimp you fucking casual
>media player
smplayer+mplayer or mpv
>audio
ncmpcpp+mpd
>pdf editor
libreoffice->export as pdf
>sync with android phone
mount it as flash drive, like any sane person would. if you phone cannot be connected as a flash drive, then it's shit, get a new one
>screencap
scrot or DEs own screencap tools
For a lot of this check out this link.

This kills the switch to Linux. You could try running them in WINE, but chances are they don't run all that well.

get a mac
im serious
Also
Krita should be fine on Linux. If you've tried it on Windows give it a chance on Linux.
Bomi is a good media player, MPV if you're not afraid of some CLI every now and then (you shouldn't be if you are seriously going to bother with linux). I'm assuming you don't want VLC, it's available on Linux as well.
Try pdftk

Find out the generic name for the programs you use, then read a manual or three.
