Why does /g/ seem to hate desktops?
It seems like everyone is more in favor of tablets and laptops than a desktop, why? I thought /g/ loved technology and customization.
You can't build a laptop like you can a desktop.
It's because their shitty little T61's can't handle handle Windows and they're too poor to afford a MacBook Pro.
/g/ hates vidya, which is another reason

Probably because of buyer's remorse. It happened to me. When I bought an A10 APU laptop I thought that I would never need to build a desktop because of how amazing and powerful I thought laptops were.
When I realized how dogshit the CPU and especially the iGPU was on my laptop I went into denial. I kept telling myself it was good enough.
Anyway now I know how shit laptops are and how desktops will still be useful for another 10-20 years. Currently I still have my laptop but I will definitely build a AMD Zen based build next year or Haswell-E based build (if Zen turns out to be a flop).

That's your own fault for thinking a laptop could be used for graphics. My laptop is used for programming and shitposting. I don't pretend it's useful for anything else.
