Do you constantly have 50 tabs open? If yes, but 16gb RAM, if no, buy 8GB, but make sure you buy 2x4GB or 1x8GB so you can upgrade in the future (2x4 is better since it uses dual channel, but that doesn't make that much difference anymore).
For the SSD space, only you can tell. Are you currently using more than ~220GB or are you planning to use more? -> 500GB, else 250GB
2 tb ssd and 32 gb ram

250 gig ssd and 16 gig of ram
you can delete shit if you need more space on the ssd, not so much on adding extra ram without paying for extra sticks.
Get the 16 gigglebytes of RAM, SSD prices SHOULD only drop from here on out

thank you very much for the serious replies

turns out i have enough money for 16 gigs ram and a 500 gig ssd, but im not sure i want to spend it all. going to wait a little while to be sure
>>52058758
Hmm.. Conventional wisdom so far; go for the 250 gig and 16 gig ram. As for the RAM, >>52059244 has a good point, but why not give yourself the head room for the future. As for the HD, get the 250; install your OS and major programs on it. Use your 1 TB as secondary for storage, other programs. games. etc.
