Thinking about that honestly I've just been using it over the past decade or so and well I'm so familiar with it as well as the particular theme I use its hard to part with. I really like the fact you can extract executables with 7zip, that's a really big plus and you can get around adware bullshit the devs put in freeware really easy with it.

Before you buy anything, always look for alternatives that are free as in freedom. Instead of WinRAR, use 7zip since it's LGPL. It has some weird restriction on RAR because it's a proprietary algorithm, but you can unRAR archives just fine.

Honestly familiarity is what keeps me with winrar. I'm aware you can unrar just fine but its literally been more than a decade since I've started using it. Much in the same way I'm sticking with windows. I'm a really habitual person.

I can't remember the last time I bought software, apart from vidya.
But for that matter, I pretty much don't pirate any software either. Last thing was the tomb raider reboot a few years ago.
I get around pretty good using free (beer) software. Feels nice if it's FOSS as well, which is quite a lot of the software I use.

To be honest I used to pirate shit all the time. But that was when I was a kid without any buying power. Eventually as I grew up I just slowly started drifting away from getting free shit. It especially became like that once the bank said: "You need to build credit history. Here have a visa." Took me years to finally pay off. When I did I was like cool now I have more spending power let me go do that all over again.

That's why I'm havin trouble with deciding whether to keep buying my shit. I spent a lot of money on my PC I don't want to fuck with the last stretch. Already paying yearly for Norton. Shit.
