So I stupidly, without thinking, used hand sanitizer to clean my expensive g sync monitor. Did I fuck up? I wiped it again with plain water and a paper towel so the alcohol wouldn't damage it further.
Right now, nothing looks out of the ordinary.

I clean my stuff with a damp rag soaked in 50% rubbing alcohol all the time.
Just don't use it on glossy surfaces, I don't know if it ruins the finish.
Use water for glossy shit and don't eat around your computer, it eliminates the need for cleaning in the first place.

Hand sanitizers usually have some sort of aloe in them so that the alcohol doesn't dry out your skin, so for the sake of cleanliness, you're going to want to rub down your screen with a moist cloth, or microfiber cloth if available. If nothing looks terrible, your screen probably doesn't have any alcohol-soluble coating. In the future, maybe use some sort of eye-glass cleaner at your own risk. If you don't want to risk it, use a damp cloth.
