Why would anyone program for linux. You should just be able to host the installer on your website and be done with it
>>
>>52034278
man look at this idiot, spending time fighting his own operating system and spending 95% of his time making sure he wont be spied on after installing spyware botnet... hope you get enough money to feed your family for this creative shilling.

>>
>>52039327
I actually don't care if Microsoft gets my telemetry. Microsoft aren't doing anything to me so far.
>>
>>52039293
You CAN host the installer on the website as well, but it's a stupid distribution model. Which is why most sucessful windows software distribute in some sort of repository like a store or steam. It is more effective.

They are selling your personal information. Because of CISA it is legal for them to sell any personal information they gather when people use their services. And they can sell it without your consent. To advertisement agancies, the government, china or whoever.

That is why you have to accept that microsoft "collect personal information" (sic) in the terms and conditions when you install windows 10.
>>
>>52039385
Why should I care? How does it harm me in any way?
>>
>>52039422
so what happens when microsoft eventually gets hacked and all your information is leaked out to EVERYONE, not just microsoft and their advertisers?
>>
>>52039417
I don't care if they sell that information. It's anonymous. It doesn't have my name on it. Even if it did have my name on it, I still don't care. What are they going to do to me, advertise to me? Like I'm scared of some advertising.

Not only games, but work too (Office, Adobe suite and anything else that people use to be productive in the real world).

Linux is good only for intensifying your autism and watching questionable foreign cartoons.

Came here to say this
>>
>>52034278
After using terminal I have seen the error of my ways. So many tools for power users are available via terminal that Windows does not offer.

I am actually more productive on Linux with faster output than I was on Windows. I only have a Windows 7 install on my external HDD to use Office 365 when required. Most of my work and reports are created in LibreOffice and exported to PDF so normies can never tell the difference.

Linux is no longer just a server OS, it is poised to become the desktop OS Linus had envisioned.

Do you personally use Adobe and CAD? Adobe software like PS is already ported to Linux.

Gaming is already making transition and most games are now released for Linux alongside Windows/OSX.

Pretty much the only argument against linux is the whole driver issue, which is a real fucking pain in the ass. Basically if you want to do anything for fun on Linux you have to buy a video card that has been preapproved by the faggots that develop your distro and then install the right driver (then pray that it does not cause x11 to just die for no reason.)

Meanwhile windows just werks.
Also applications run like shit in linux, though that is usually due to terrible programming by software developers and is not really the fault of the OS.

I am using 3rd Gen Intel HD 4000 and it works so well with 4.x kernel. Not sure about AMD and Nvidia but there are drivers available.

Windows is boring to be honest, after using it for several years it feels depressing. The lack of customization and control with each new release is a turnoff and after using Windows 10 for a month I migrated to Linux to start over and have something to look forward to.
