I was shocked by how better than cherry it was, like closing a BMW door compared to a shitty Nissan.
Then I returned it because it needs good pbt caps and the body tends to keep fingerprints.
Also it was ISO so it made little sense for custom keysets.

Control there is amazing if you use emacs. Basic emacs navigation keys also work lots of places. Control-a/e for home/end works almost all the time. Control-h/d for backspace/delete. Control-p/n to go up and down in text. Control-k to delete to the end of the line.

That dell keyboard with the media buttons was one of my favorite keyboard pre-mechanical.
The volume knob was fun and the lights were kind of neat. I think I used that right up until I got a CM Storm QuickFire Rapid.
Him dropping in speed is temporary, and he's sure to be faster on the mechanical if he sticks with it. I went through the same thing after switching. I didn't expect to suddenly beat my highest WPM when I got a mechanical, but I was a bit irritated that I couldn't get within 5 wpm of my old record. These days I'm much faster.

I don't mind leds. I don't have a bias towards it or anything. And I wouldn't say I want to buy Shine because of leds. They are kinda nice looking though I'm not going to deny that.

It also limits what keycaps you can get. A lot of the cool keycaps like zinc ones or DSA profile ones don't shinethrough for LEDs.

And customs or import taxes as you call them are around 4%, it's the VAT that takes the biggest piece of the cakes since it's 20% (on item+shipping+import) in pretty much every eu country.

I think my Leopold 660m is broken. Anyone else ever had keys dying for a short duration? I have a bunch of buttons that randomly stop to function. It feels like they enter some form of sleep mode and need a bit to wake up after having pressed them.
Doesnt feel like a defect because the keys still work. Already exchanged the cable but that didnt change anything. Please help, CBA sending this shit in for warranty repairs. Takes god damn ages and I would be forced to buy a new keyboard for that time anyway.

Vortex make a dark, pretty thick PBT set with top or side printed nordic legends if you want to upgrade your feeling a bit. Side printed obviously don't wear out.
Other than that it's a bit tricky if you want those extra lettered keycaps. You pretty much have to scout for group buys with additional kits, which can be rare.
ISO is a mess and it's easier if you can accept a few blank keys. Lots of available sets with ISO kits, but without all the letters.
