does it work over POTS ("plain old telephone service") wires? because that's what ADSL is made for

t carriers are over telephone copper, but the digital signal standard is media agnostic. given the distance a ds3 or higher is often carried it typically switches to coax, fiber and/or ethernet one or more times.
a t-carrier is YOUR tunnel and far superior to adsl.
