For the last 5 years I've used one that has all the leather come off and the gas cannister finally broke so it's no longer height adjustable, I don't have high standards.
I'd rather not spend too much.

what warrants such a high price tag?
"Executive"
When was the last time your ass ever touched something "executive"?

Steelcase Criterion.
Bought mine at a used office supply store for $120 or so.
A good chair will last you a decade, easy. There is no excuse for not investing in a quality chair with good ergonomics.
The chair in your picture is just going to encourage you to slouch and roll your shoulders forward. Enjoy your forward-head syndrome and bulged cervical disc.

Oh, and the horrible, continuously-curved arms are going to create hot spots on your elbows or forearms.

Nothing, its garbage. Don't even bother. Slapping executive on something doesn't make it comfy.
Honestly OP I never buy chairs online, I always buy in person, sit down, spread my fat American ass cheeks over the cushions and really get comfy, then I choose. Typically visit some place like Staples or Office Depot or whatever and choose whichever is the comfiest. These are of course budget chairs typically made in China that last at most a few years.

can I get some kind of ergonomic chair here in the UK that will help with posture for under £100?
>>52022921
I don't know, can you?
Around here you can find a used Steelcase Leap for $300 - $500. It's comparable to the Herman Miller Aeron. The Criterion is similar to the Herman Miller Ergon.
The best thing about the Criterion versus shitty company-supplied chairs I've had is that you can actually get the back upright, and it's strong as hell, so it doesn't flex.
There's nothing worse than some shitty, spring loaded office chair that lets you slump into a backward lean.

stand.

would have to buy a standing desk and would take a while to get used to that

What happens when you let go of your mouse?
>>52025190
>he doesn't put magnets on the bottom of his mice
>he doesn't use metal mousepads

Poorfag version
>>52025215
enjoy letting your mouse fall on the floor and having to sigh and stretch to get it, getting really uncomfortable in the process and maybe even twisting your back too much so it hurts slightly
